Note: This outline reflects a rough time frame of the class presentation. All subjects will be covered, but the actual day / time of the presentation may vary from this outline.
The Advanced Excel CARE class is designed for the technician or engineer who has completed the Excel CARE class (through M.O.V. Training Services or Honeywell Inc.'s Home and Building Control Training Services) and is looking to expand their understanding of the Schematic, Control Strategy and Switching Logic abilities of the Excel CARE program. This is accomplished with the use of a class lab fulfilling the specification (sequence of operation) for an advanced airhandling unit.
What You Will Learn:
The functions of the Multistage, Epid and Adaptive Neural XFMs (Extended Function Modules), the Optimum Start / Stop icon, switches, the Math icon, the Write icon, and more. The intent is to concentrate on Advanced Control Strategy solutions for everyday control problems. Control Strategies will be the bulk of the class presentation.
Linking Control Icons together to get them to work together to satisfy a control spec.
Information will be presented on the new XFM MoDALs that are now available in CARE 7.0.
Static pressure control and humidity control (both with high limit applications), VAV control using Excel 500 controllers, reset of controller setpoints, sequencing of the heat valve, outside air damper and DX cooling , floating alarm and alarm suppression applications, and much more will be covered in Control Strategy. Heavy emphasis will be placed on control strategy solutions to both common and uncommon system control requirements. |
Plant restoring, copying and replicating procedures will be used to create additional plants. |
These plants will be used to define each type of Common and Global Point configuration, and will allow the students to define specific user address applications to make sure that all points can be isolated both on a C-Bus and on a LAN (Local Area Network). |
Controller Upload and Import procedures will be discussed and used to create an Impact Report. This report will compare the database coming out of the controller to the database currently in Excel CARE. Import procedures to overwrite the existing Excel CARE database will be discussed and used to update the Excel CARE database so that it matches the "fine tuned" database in the controller (this is a very important procedure for all field technicians to know!). |
Who Needs Level II Advanced Excel CARE Training?
The Advanced Level Excel CARE training class is designed for the design technician who already has a basic working knowledge of the Excel CARE software program and is looking to quickly broaden their knowledge of Honeywell Inc.'s Excel CARE software. This includes advanced level instruction in Excel CARE'S control strategy icons and switching logic. Heavy emphasis will be placed on control strategy solutions to common and important system requirements.
*** Class outline is volatile and may change in each individual class. The main focus of the class is control strategies. As class discussions develop, class pace may change. If this happens, the class will focus on the control strategy/switching logic discussions, potentially reducing or eliminating time for other discussions, such as plant replicating and download/upload procedures.
